Abstract
This research aimed to study the influence of purchasing process, order forecasting, and external resource management on warehouse management and the influence of purchasing process, warehouse management, and knowledge and understanding of purchasing work on the efficiency of purchasing management of purchasing staff in packaging companies in Bangkok metropolitan area. The sample group was 350 purchasing staff of packaging companies in Bangkok metropolitan area. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The data was analyzed using structural equation modeling statistics. The empirical data showed the Goodness of Fit Index was as follows: CMIN/df = 2.14, GFI = 0.910, CFI = 0.966, RMR = 0.102, RMSEA = 0.057. The results found that the purchasing process, order forecasting, and external resource management had a positive influence on warehouse management. In addition, knowledge and understanding of purchasing work, warehouse management, and purchasing process had a positive influence on purchasing management efficiency. Therefore, executives and human resources in the organization can use these results as a guideline to improve the purchasing process, adjust the strategies and policies in the purchasing process, and increase the skills of purchasing staff to increase management efficiency.
