Development of Science Process Skills and Learning Achievement of Prathomsuksa 4 Students on the Topic of Moon and Solar Systems Using Inquiry Model (5E) combined with Social Media
Main Article Content
Abstract
The purposes of this research were to develop lesson plans based on the Inquiry Model (5E) combined with social media on the topic of the moon and solar systems to meet the efficiency of 80/80, compare the students’ science process skills and learning achievement before and after learning the Inquiry Model (5E) combined with social media, and to examine students' satisfaction with the learning management using Inquiry Model (5E) combined with social media. The sample group consisted of 32 Prathomsuksa 4 students at a private school in Sakon Nakhon Province who were studying in the second semester of the academic year 2022 using cluster random sampling. The research instruments were: 1) four lesson plans based on inquiry model (5E) combined with social media; 2) a science process skills assessment; 3) a learning achievement test; and 4) a satisfaction questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test for dependent samples. The findings showed that the efficiency of the lesson plans based on Inquiry Model (5E) combined with social media on the topic of the moon and solar system for Prathomsuksa 4 students was 81.77/80.94, which satisfied the criterion efficiency of 80/80. The students’ science process skills after learning with Inquiry Model (5E) combined with social media were significantly higher than before at the.01 level, and the students’ learning achievement after learning with Inquiry Model (5E) combined with social media was significantly higher than before at the.01 level, and the mean score of as well as the mean score of students satisfactions towards the learning management was at a high level ( = 4.72).
