THe Digital Citizenship Developing Strategies of the Secondary Schools

Abstract

   This research aims to study the current and desirable conditions of school administration to develop the digital citizenship of secondary schools and develop the digital citizenship developing strategies of the secondary schools. The research methodology was mixed methods. The research was divided into 2 steps as follows: 1) study the current and desirable conditions of school administration to develop the digital citizenship of secondary schools using a questionnaire. The sample group consisted of 662 administrators and teachers under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office.  2) Digital citizenship developing strategies of the secondary schools were drafted using SWOT Analysis and TOWS Matrix, the consistency and suitability of these strategies were examined using a group discussion with 8 experts, and the consistency, suitability, feasibility, and usefulness were assessed using a questionnaire with 17 experts. The data were analyzed using percentage, frequency, mean ( ), standard deviation (S.D.), modified priority needs index (PNImodified), and content analysis. The results of the study indicated that; 1) the overall of current condition of school administration to develop the digital citizenship of secondary schools was at a high level and the overall of desirable condition of school administration to develop the digital citizenship of secondary schools was at the highest level, and 2) the digital citizenship developing strategies of secondary schools consisted of 4 missions, 4 goals, 4 major strategies, 13 minor strategies, 35 tactics, and 36 indicators. According to the assessment by 17 experts found that these strategies were consistent, suitable, feasible, and useful at the highest level.
