Internships Course Development to Promote Professional Student Teacher Abilities

Abstract
This research aimed to develop internships course to promote professional student teacher abilities and examine internships course. Mixed Method is used for this research. Methodologies divide in 2 phases: Phase 1: Development of internships course, the document analysis were used as research methodology. The instrument was a document analysis form passed by 5 experts’ judgement = 4.40, met the high level, and analytical data using content analysis and analytic description. Phase 2: Examine the results of internships course to promote professional student teacher abilities using Pre Experimental Design: One-Shot Case Study. The population were 580 student teachers (year 5) Roi-Et Rajabhat University in academic year 1/2016. The sample were 32 student teachers using simple random sampling. The instruments were 1. the internships course to promote professional student teacher abilities was passed by 5 experts’ judgement = 4.54 (S.D. = 0.15, met the highest level, 2. the professional student teacher abilities assessment form, it was a reliability at 0.99, and 3. self-reflection form was passed by 5 experts’ judgement = 4.00. The result revealed that the internships course to promote professional student teacher abilities were 7 elements including 1) rationale 2) principle and theory concept, 3) course objective, 4) course description and framework, 5) learning management process, 6) learning resources, and 7) measurement and evaluation method, and the efficiency of internships course to promote professional student teacher abilities using the same prescript criteria of the internship course were and percentage found that the average score towards the evaluation of professional student teacher abilities was 4.62 (S.D. = 0.31) : met the highest level, and the total score from 2 assessment forms was 89 percentages: passed the prescript criterion, 70 percentages. Benefits from the study were 1) the internships course to promote professional student teacher abilities can use for student teachers, and 2) the using of this internships course to enhance Thai teacher abilities including good teachers, and smart teachers to apply and develop student learning in further
