Abstract

The research aimed to study the learning achievement of learners who had learned with the project-based learning approach and examine the learners’ satisfaction toward the aforementioned approach.               The target group comprised 19 students from the Information Management Program, who had registered for the Database Management Course in Semester 1/2020. The research tools were the project-based learning plan, the Database Management Course achievement test, and the learning management satisfaction questionnaire. The mean, standard deviation (S.D.), and a t-test were applied to analyze the collected data. The results illustrated that the learners who had learned with the project-based learning approach had a higher average post-learning achievement with a statistical significance of .01. The students’ satisfaction toward project-based learning was at a high level ( =4.39, S.D.=0.14). In addition, the results indicated that the students’ quality accomplishments were proposed for the Excellent Academic Articles Award at the National Academic Conference and won the first place in the Creative Innovation Contest. This research could be applicable to other courses. The project-based learning approach is an interesting model because the learner can learn from the authentic experience, apply the knowledge, think critically, create new things, and encourage the learner to learn about teamworking and problem-solving.
