Abstract
This research aims 1) to study the problems of learning and teaching on Pali Buddhist Studies subject of teachers and students in Mahamakut Buddhist University, Lanna Campus 2) to compare the oppinions of teachers and students of different sexs and ages on the problem of Pali teaching for Buddhist research in Mahamakut Buddhist University,Lanna Campus 3) It is suggest to improve and develop the teaching method of the Pali language for the study of Buddhism and increase the student’s academic achievement in the future. The research samples are the teachers and the first year students in Mahamakut Buddhist University, Lanna Campus total 350 students. The instrument was a five - rating - scale questionnaire and the data were analyzed using by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and f-test will be presented and descriptive in the table forms.
The results were found as follows: An attitude of the teachers and students in Mahamakut Buddhist University, Lanna Campus to the problems on Pali Buddhist Studies subject by the overall image is in good level ( = 4.27, S.D. = 0.49) and when separate be lay meet that every factors have been in good level following by frequency of lesson, learning, teaching, instructional media, evaluation, activity and environment. The comparative of The Problems of teaching on Pali Buddhist Studies subject: A case study of Mahamakut Buddhist University, Lanna Campus in 6 factors and each one divided into sex and age, no difference was statistically significant at the 0.05 level. The recommendation for improvement of the teaching on Pali Buddhist Studies subject: A case study of Mahamakut Buddhist University, Lanna Campus 1. Teacher should integrate and apply the Pali subject with the modern science and technology in teaching and learning Pali. 2. Teacher should make the trip activities to travel the Buddhist temple 3.Teacher should apply the new instruction media in teaching and learning Pali. 4. Teacher should simulate the class room by decorating with a set of altar table, Buddha statue, Buddha historical pictures, Jataka tales fair in order to administrate teaching and learning Pali and should be conducted the exam to evaluate only Pali knowledge.
