Abstract

    The objectives of this study were to investigate: 1) personal background data of farmers who used the services of the Agricultural Technology Transfer and Service Center (ATTSC) in Wiangsa-add district, Phayakkhaphum Phisai district, Mahasarakham province, 2) good organizational characteristics of ATTSC. Population was farmers in Wiangsa-aad sub-district, Phayakkhaphum Phisai district, Mahasarakham province who lived in 1,127 households of their own. A sample of 278 was selected by proportional stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected by an interview guide. Descriptive statistics of frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, maximum and minimum values were used, and Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient was used to determine a relationship of the variables.
    The results of study revealed as follows: 1) Most of the farmers or 53.20% were females at the average age of 42.82 and contacted ATTSC for 5 years. 2) The overall good organizational characteristic of ATTSC was at high level and it was also at high level in the perspectives from the current actual situation, and confidence in development, respectively ( =4.15, 4.14, 4.12). The farmers’ experience in contact with ATTSC had relationship with the personnel aspect and the work system aspect of ATTSC but had no relationship with the structure aspect of ATTSC.
