บทคัดย่อ

วัตถุประสงค์ของบทความวิจัยนี้ คือการศึกษาแนวคิดทางประวัติศาสตร์ของไมเคิล โอ๊คช็อตต์ โดยสังเคราะห์จากงานเขียนของเขาตั้งแต่ทศวรรษ 1930 จนถึงทศวรรษ 1980 ผลจากการศึกษาพบว่าสาระสำคัญในงานเขียนทางด้านประวัติศาสตร์ของโอ๊คช็อตต์ แบ่งออกได้เป็น 2 ประเด็น ประเด็นแรก คือ การอภิปรายถึงธรรมชาติขององค์ความรู้ทางประวัติศาสตร์ และประเด็นที่สอง คือการอภิปรายถึงขั้นตอนของการแสวงหาความรู้ทางประวัติศาสตร์ ซึ่งเริ่มตั้งแต่การมองโลกผ่านรูปแบบการรับรู้แบบประวัติศาสตร์ และการประกอบสร้างเหตุการณ์ทางประวัติศาสตร์โดยอาศัยมโนทัศน์ที่สำคัญ ได้แก่ แหล่งข้อมูล สถานการณ์ทางประวัติศาสตร์ เหตุการณ์สำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์ และการอธิบายทางประวัติศาสตร์
