วิถีชีวิตไทยจากสำนวนไทยที่มีคำว่า "น้ำ" เป็นส่วนประกอบ

บทคัดย่อ

บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาและวิเคราะห์วิถีชีวิตของคนในสังคมไทยจากสํานวนไทยที่มีคําว่า “น้ำ” เป็นส่วนประกอบ ผลการศึกษาวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาและความหมายจากสํานวนไทยลักษณะดังกล่าวพบว่าวิถีชีวิตของคนในสังคมไทยมี 13 ลักษณะ ได้แก่ 1) สังคมไทยเป็นสังคมเกษตรกรรม 2) สังคมไทยเป็นสังคมที่มีพระพุทธศาสนาเป็นศาสนาประจำชาติ 3) สังคมไทยมีความสัมพันธ์แบบเครือญาติ 4) มีความเคารพยกย่องผู้มีอาวุโส ครู อาจารย์ 5) นิยมความสุภาพอ่อนโยน มีความเมตตากรุณาและเอื้อเฟื้อเผื่อแผ่ ไม่ชอบความก้าวร้าว 6) รู้จักที่ต่ำที่สูงและรู้จักประมาณตน 7) ตระหนักถึงความสําคัญของการพูด 8) มีความมานะอดทนและเพียรพยายาม 9) มีความกตัญูกตเวที 10) นิยมความหรูหรา โอ่อ่า ทําอะไรใหญ่โต ใจกว้างและรักความสนุกสนาน 11) ไม่ยอมรับการประพฤติไม่ดีทั้งกาย ทางวาจาและทางจิตใจ 12) ให้ความสําคัญกับการมีน้ำใจหรือการแสดงน้ำใจ และ 13) คํานึงถึงเรื่องเวลาหรือโอกาส

The purpose of this article is to study and analyze the Thai people’s ways of life derived from the Thai idioms containing the word “Nam” (Water). The results of the study of both the context and content of Thai idioms revealed that there are a total of 13 characteristics indicating the Thai people’s ways of life as follows: 1) Thailand is an agricultural society, 2) Thailand is a stronghold of Buddhism, 3) Thai society is held together by the kinship system, 4) Thais respect hierarchical relationships of elder and teacher, 5) Thais place great emphasis on courtesy, kindness, and pacifism, 6) Thais value genial demeanor and self-control, 7) Thais place great importance on the act of speech, 8) Thais are patient and willful, 9) Thai society sees gratitude as one of its intrinsic value, 10) Thais love grandiose, extravagant, and fun, 11) Thais are cautious to avoid any action that would bring harms to the body and the mind, 12) Thais value the practice of kindness, and 13) Thais hold the appropriateness of action and occasion as great importance.
