บทคัดย่อ

บทความนี้เสนอสาระสำคัญ 2 เรื่อง คือ ผลการวิจัยเรื่องพัฒนาหลักสูตรวิชาภาษาศาสตร์และการปรับปรุงหลักสูตรปริญญาโทสาขาวิชาภาษาศาสตร์ การวิจัยมีวัตถุประสงค์สำคัญคือ สำรวจความคิดเห็นและข้อเสนอแนะเกี่ยวกับหลักสูตรวิชาภาษาศาสตร์ ทั้งระดับปริญญาตรีและปริญญาโท และเพื่อสำรวจความสนใจของผู้เรียนและความต้องการของตลาดงานเกี่ยวกับหลักสูตรวิชาภาษาศาสตร์ ข้อมูลได้จากแบบสอบถามซึ่งรวบรวมจากตัวอย่างประชากร 9 กลุ่ม จำนวน 515 คน ผลการศึกษาพบว่าหลักสูตรวิชาภาษาศาสตร์ได้ระดับปริญญาตรีและระดับปริญญาโทได้รับการประเมินในเกณฑ์บวกสำหรับหลักสูตรที่กลุ่มตัวอย่างเสนอว่าควรเปิดสอนเนื่องจากน่าสนใจและมีประโยชน์ ได้แก่ หลักสูตรภาษาและการสื่อสาร ภาษาศาสตร์ภาษาอังกฤษ และภาษาศาสตร์และการแปลส่วนหลักสูตรระดับปริญญาโทและปริญญาเอก กลุ่มตัวอย่างสนใจหลักสูตรภาษาศาสตร์ประยุกต์ ภาษาและการสื่อสาร ภาษาศาสตร์และการสอนภาษา และภาษาศาสตร์ภาษาไทย ภาควิชาภาษาศาสตร์ได้นำผลจากการวิจัยมาเป็นแนวทางในการปรับปรุงหลักสูตรปริญญาโทซึ่งพัฒนาเป็น “หลักสูตรภาษาศาสตร์เพื่อการสื่อสาร”

This article presents two major themes. One is the finding from the investigation into the linguistic programs, and the other is the improvement of the current Master’s degree program in Linguistic. The main objectives of the study were to gather information, opinions, and suggestions on linguistics programs at undergraduate and Master’s degree levels; and to find out students’ needs and market demands with regard to linguistics programs. Nine types of questionnaire were administered to nine groups comprising 515 respondents. Results of the study showed that Thammasat linguistics students and graduates evaluated the programs favorably. Most respondents recommended that at the undergraduate level, programs in Language and Communication, English Linguistics, and Linguistics and Translation should be offered. At the Master’s and Doctoral levels, Applied Linguistics, Language and Communication, Linguistics and Language Teaching, and Thai Linguistics should be offered. Based on these research results, the Linguistics Department has revised the Master’s degree program into “the Master of Arts Degree in Linguistics for Communication.”
