ความล่มสลายของการศึกษาไทย: จากรากหญ้าสู่รากฝอย

บทคัดย่อ

ประเทศไทยจัดการศึกษาแบบสมัยใหม่มา 100 ปีเศษ แต่ไม่ประสบความสำเร็จในพันธกิจสำคัญ 2 ประการ คือ

1. ด้านองค์ความรู้

2. ด้านการอบรมบ่มเพาะให้เป็นมนุษย์ที่สมบูรณ์

ปัจจัยสำคัญที่ทำให้การศึกษาของไทยล่มสลายคือ

1. รัฐไม่มีเป้าหมายระดับชาติที่เป็นรูปธรรมในการหล่อหลอมคน

2. รัฐไม่สามารถยกระดับการศึกษาของประชาชนในชาติให้สูงขึ้นได้

3. คนเก่งและมีวิสัยทัศน์ไม่ได้รับโอกาสให้มาขับเคลื่อนนโยบายการศึกษาของชาติ

4. คุณค่าแบบไทยมุ่งเน้นรูปแบบและพิธีการมากกว่าเนื้อหา

5. สื่อคือตัวการสำคัญที่ทำให้เส้นประสาทในสมองของเด็กไม่งอกเงย

เมื่อธุรกิจการศึกษาแบบตะวันตกหลั่งไหลเข้ามา โลกการศึกษาของไทยจึงเกิดการผันผวนมากยิ่งขึ้น เกิดการแบ่งแยกทางชนชั้นทางการศึกษาเพิ่มมากขึ้นอย่างเห็นได้ชัด ในท้ายที่สุดกลุ่มชนที่น่าสงสารมากที่สุดคือกลุ่มชนที่ด้อยโอกาสทั้งทางสังคมและเศรษฐกิจ ซึ่งยังคงเป็นกลุ่มที่มีขนาดใหญ่ในประเทศไทย

The modern Thai education system has been operating for approximately 100 years. However, it has not been successful in two critical criteria:

1. Providing knowledge.

2. Nurturing students to become complete holistic persons.

Factors contributing to the collapse of the Thai education system

1. The government does not have a national goal to educate the citizens.

2. The government is not able to raise the quality of the national education.

3. Intellectually skilled people do not have the opportunity to carry out the national education policy.

4. Thais value appearances more than quality.

5. The media stops the normal functioning of the neurons in children’s brains.

The western style of education is becoming more influential within the Thai education system, and as a result the educational system has become more divided by economic class. In the end, those most vulnerable are the socially and economically disadvantaged, still a large group in Thai society.
