บทความชิ้นนี้เป็นการอ่านเชิงวิจัยและวิเคราะห์บทสนทนาเฟดรัสของเพลโตอย่างละเอียด ซึ่งเพลโตได้ประพันธ์ขึ้นในช่วงสุกงอมทางความคิดของเขา

This article is a result of a close textual reading and of research on Plato’s Phaedrus, a dialogue he composed when he was at the height of his maturity.

The Phaedrus is one of Plato’s most controversial dialogues. Due to its exotic setting outside of the city in a forested locale, the complexity of its plot, as well as the unfamiliar sounding myths it recites, it is not only thought provoking but also beautifully written. In its own uniqueness, the Phaedrus can be seen as a reader’s companion to Plato’s other dialogues that reveals the “working mind” of one of the most remarkable philosopher-poets of all time.

The purpose of this essay is to provide an introductory guide to this complex and beautiful dialogue, enabling the reader to grasp for him/herself the wealth of interpretive possibilities it contains.
