บทคัดย่อ

This study is a historical investigation on European integration after World War II. It looks major factors influencing the formation of European Economic Community in 1957. The factors include the post-war new world order, American political and economic influence on a united Europe, France-German reconciliation, and Britain’s hostility towards an emerging economic group in Western Europe.

The study reveals key policy-makers’ visions and the interplay between major countries under difficult environment. The formation of EEC is therefore considered as a major turning-point of European history.

บทความนี้ศึกษารายละเอียดประวัติศาสตร์เกี่ยวกับปัจจัยสำคัญที่นำไปสู่การก่อตั้งประชาคมยุโรปใน ค.ศ. 1957  จุดเน้นมุ่งที่ผู้กำหนดนโยบายประเทศและปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศต่างๆ ปัจจัยที่ศึกษาคือระเบียบโลกใหม่หลังสงครามอิทธิพลทางการเมืองและเศรษฐกิจของสหรัฐอเมริกาต่อการรวมกลุ่มความพยายามประสานนโยบายและปรองดองระหว่างฝรั่งเศสกับเยอรมันและการที่อังกฤษขัดขวางการเกิดกลุ่มเศรษฐกิจในยุโรปตะวันตก

การศึกษานี้ชี้ให้เห็นถึงวิธีคิดและวิสัยทัศน์ของผู้กำหนดนโยบายสำคัญและปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศที่เกี่ยวข้องภายใต้อุปสรรคความยากลำบากการก่อตัวของประชาคมจึงถือได้ว่าเป็นจุดเปลี่ยนสำคัญยิ่งของประวัติศาสตร์ยุโรป
