บทคัดย่อ

เมื่อเอ่ยถึงการ์ตูนไม่ว่าจะเป็นภาพวาดหรือภาพยนต์ คนทั่วไปจะนึกถึงความตลก ความสนุกสนาน ความเพลิดเพลิน หรือแม้กระทั่งความไม่มีแก่นสาร อันที่จริงการ์ตูนเป็นศิลปะที่รวมของความสามารถหลายด้าน เช่น ความมีฝีมือในการวาดภาพ ความสามารถในการสร้างเรื่องโดยใช้จินตนาการที่แยบยล และที่สำคัญสาระที่ศิลปินต้องการสื่อให้กระทบใจผู้อ่าน บางครั้งหรือหลายครั้งที่เราดูการ์ตูนแล้วขำไม่ออก หรือที่เราเรียกว่าตลกร้าย การอ่านการ์ตูนต้องอ่านหลายซับหลายซ้อน เพื่อให้เข้าถึงความหมายข้างหลังภาพ ในบทความเรื่องอารมณ์ขัน (ฝรั่ง) จากไปเบิลนี้ก็เช่นกัน ผู้เขียนพยายามเสนอให้ผู้อ่านเห็นถึงความอัจฉริยะของศิลปิน (ฝรั่ง) ที่สามารถนำเนื้อหาจากหนังสือศักดิ์สิทธิ์เล่มหนึ่งของมนุษยชาติมาผสมผสานกับฝีมือการวาด การใช้จินตนาการทางวรรณศิลป์ และการเล่นกับภาษา มาเปิดโลกความรู้และความเพลิดเพลินให้แก่ผู้อ่านได้ในเวลาเดียวกัน

One tends to think of cartoon, either as comics or animated films, as something that is associated with humour, fun, amusement or even triviality. But in fact, cartoon is a form of art which combines mutiple facets of talents: drawing, great imagination, story telling and the ability to convey messages difficult to described by words. Sometime humorous caricatures hide melancholic message. Readers sometimes need imagination and effort to understand the hidden message. In this short article on "(Farang) Humour from the Bible", the author has tried to point out the genius of these artists who have the ability to combine the essence from this Holy Book with their drawing talent and great imagination, together with the cunning uses of caption, to educate and at the same time entertian.
