Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1. study the current conditions and needs assessment for instructional model and multimedia packages to develop students' collaborative skills, 2. draft an instructional model and multimedia packages to develop students' collaborative skills, 3. study the implementation results of the instructional model and multimedia packages to develop students' collaborative skills, and 4. evaluate the implementation of the instructional model and multimedia packages to develop students' collaborative skills. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) methodology, divided into four phases. The sample consisted of 322 teachers from secondary schools under the Loei-Nong Bua Lamphu Secondary Educational Service Area Office and 35 ninth-grade students from Suwannakuha Pittayasan School. Research instruments included questionnaires, interviews, observation forms, and collaborative skills assessment forms. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, and content analysis.

The findings revealed that 1. Currently, teachers still use lecture-based teaching methods, lacking the use of multimedia and activities that promote collaboration. Teachers have essential needs for effective multimedia packages and guidelines for organizing activities that enhance students' collaborative skills. 2. the developed teaching model and multimedia kit were found to be highly appropriate and effective according to the 80/80 criteria; 3. students who learned using the teaching model and multimedia kit had significantly higher post-learning collaborative skills than pre-learning at the .05 level, with skill levels being high or higher; and 4. students and teachers were highly to extremely satisfied with the use of the teaching model and multimedia kit. Administrators and supervisors accepted that the teaching model is feasible for implementation and expansion. Recommendations from this research include increasing the diversity of media activities, developing teachers' skills in using technology, and conducting long-term follow-up studies.
