A STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODEL OF FACTORS AFFECTING EFFICIENCY OF SMALL-SCALED PRIMARY SCHOOL MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION IN THAILAND

Objectives of this research article were: 1. To study the level of agile leadership, soft skills, organizational agility, teachers’ work engagement, and efficiency of management and administration of small-scaled primary school in Thailand. 2. To develop and examine the congruence of the model of factors affecting efficiency of small-scaled primary school management and administration in Thailand. 3. To study the influence of factors affecting of small-scaled primary school management and administration in Thailand. The research sample was administrators in small-scaled primary schools total 741 respondents from stratified random sampling by region of Thailand. The research instrument was a questionnaire with five levels rating scale. The statistical methods used to analyze the data were Structural Equation Modeling.
The results revealed that, 1. Level of agile leadership, soft skills, organizational agility, teachers’ work engagement, and management efficiency of small-scaled primary school in Thailand were at the high level. 2. Developing and verifying the congruence of models finding that the model was congruency with empirical data (χ 2 = 133.67 , df = 110, p = 0.062, χ 2 /df = 1.216, GFI = 0.982, NFI = 0.995, RMSEA = 0.017, RMR = 0.002 ). 3. Analysis of the influence directly and indirectly of factors affecting management efficiency of small-scaled primary school in Thailand were found that: Agile leadership factor had a positive indirect on management efficiency of small-scaled primary school in Thailand through the organizational agility and teachers’ work engagement. It has a total effect of 0.35. Soft skills factor had a positive indirect on management efficiency of small-scaled primary school in Thailand through the organizational agility and teachers’ work engagement. It has a total effect of 0.53. The organizational agility and teachers’ work engagement that was statistically significant positive direct influence of 0.68 and 0.28 respectively on management efficiency of small-scaled primary school in Thailand at 0.05.
