THE PERCEPTION AND THE PARTICIPATION FOR AREA BASED DEVELOPMENT OF THE PEOPLE AT WANGLANG ALLEY COMMUNITY, BANGKOKNOI DISTRICT, BANGKOK METROPOLIS

Abstract

Objectives of this research article were: 1. To study the level of perception, participation and needs of people for area-based development, 2. To compare the perception, the participation and the needs of people for area-based development classified by personal factors,  3. To examine the relationship between the perception with the participation and the needs of people for area-based development and 4. To examine the relationship between the needs of people with the participation in area-based development. The questionnaire was used as a tool to collect data from the 250 random sampling households at the Wang Lang alley community. The statistics for data analysis were percentage, mean, t-Test, One-way ANOVA and Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficients. The data analyzed by statistical software. The level of statistical significance was set at 0.05.

The results of this research were found that the people’s perception and people’s needs were at moderate level. The level of people participation was at low level. The hypothesis testing revealed that the difference in age and marital status had the difference about people participation, and the difference in occupation had the difference about people needs in area-based development. Meanwhile the people’s perception was related to the people participation and related to the needs of people for area-based development. Likewise, the needs of people related to the people participation in area-based development were at the statistically significant of 0.05
