READINESS MANAGEMENT OF THE LIGHT RAIL (TRAM) CONSTRUCTION OF KHON KAEN MUNICIPALITY

Abstract

Objectives of this research were: 1. To study the planning of the readiness management for the light rail (Tram) construction of Khon Kaen Municipality, 2. To study the budget allocation to manage the readiness for Light rail (Tram) construction. of Khon Kaen Municipality, 3. To study the participation of the people and personnel in the readiness management for the light rail (Tram) construction of Khon Kaen Municipality, and 4. To study the management of materials and equipment in the preparation of the construction readiness management of the Light rail (Tram) of Khon Kaen Municipality, conducted by the qualitative research method by in-depth-interviewing 30 key informants.   

The results showed that, 1. Planning lacked the good coordination. resulting in unsmooth and complicated operations. 2. The budget allocated by the government was too small, insufficient to meet the increasing workload in the construction of the light rail (Tram) of Khon Kaen Municipality. and had limitations in the use of budgets for various administration tasks. 3. Some people did not yet know or understand the various procedures of the construction of light rail at Khon Kaen Municipality, and 4. Management of materials, equipment; materials, and equipment may not be sufficient to manage various tasks. and equipment were not modernized.
