INTELLIGENT RURAL AREAS FOR SUPPORT URBAN EXPANSION: A CASE STUDY OF MUANG DISTRICT CHACHOENGSAO PROVINCE

This article aims to study the intelligence of rural areas to support urban expansion through geographic information systems in Muang District Chachoengsao Province. The tool of the study was a geographic information system. Using data on factors influencing the development of 7 intelligence rural areas gathered from relevant agencies. Exploration of space with a global positioning system and stored in a database format in the Geographic Information System. A method of data analysis by overlaying the data in the GIS 7 factors and then calculating the scores divided into 3 levels to classify the appropriateness level of the area into 3 levels: heigh suitable, medium and low.
The results showed that Areas in Muang District Chachoengsao Province is a moderately intelligent rural area to support the expansion of the city, covering the most area. followed by less intelligent rural areas. and covering the least area is a high level of intelligence rural areas. The rural areas of high intelligence are scattered around Chachoengsao municipality.
