THE PATTERNS ON ORAL ELDERLY HEALTH CARE BY THE NATURAL METHOD FOR THE GOOD QUALITY OF LIFE

Abstract

Objectives of this research article were to 1. Study the situation of the elderly persons’ oral health care with the natural way and the oral health-related for the elderly persons’ quality of life, 2. Study the patterns of the group of elder persons’ oral health care by the natural way. Data were collected by the documentary review, questionnaire, in-depth interview, and non-participatory observation. The 40 Key informants were selected by snowball technique consisted of 20 older persons who had good oral health conditionand, 20 older persons who had normal oral health condition. Data was collected during December 2019 to March 2020.

The quantitative data was analyzed by percentages and the qualitative data was analyzed by Content Analysis. The results of this study were found as follows: 1) the situation of oral health care of elderly persons by natural method. So, the oral health-related quality of life was found that the elderly who had good oral health had higher level of quality of life than the group that had ordinary oral health-related quality of life and they were used natural method for oral health care more than the normal groups, 2) The patterns of oral health care of the elderly persons were using the natural method for good care of oral health by using herbs, the natural method and reflexology.
