MECHANISMS FOR PROMOTION OF EMPLOYMENT OF OLDER PERSONS WHO ARE INFORMAL LABORERS OF AMPHOE KHO WANG YASOTHON PROVINCE

Abstract

Objectives of this research were to learn the roles, factors supporting the success of the elderly persons’ career groups in income supplement and participation in economy labor markets and to propose the mechanism and the choice of policy for elderly persons employment were supported by  local administrative organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), communities and various sectors, conducted by the mixed methods using the qualitative method as the main principal supported by the quantitative method using questionnaires to survey the elderly persons who were informal laborers. Data were also analyzed by the outputs of the job performance by performance indexes, and the lessons learned by success indicators.

Findings were found that 1. Local administrative organizations, NGO’s, communities and other supporting agencies well supported and set good examples for  the elderly persons employment by being informal laborers, 2. Factors affecting the success of elderly persons employment indicating that elderly persons, local arts, wisdom and cultures are worth restored, 3. Data from lessons learned to form the mechanism was found that mostly government agencies supported according to the knowledge, experiences, skills, and attitudes of supporters who supported the development of the quality of life and health.
