DEVELOPING ECONOMIC SELF-RELIANCE AND OCCUPATION PROMOTION OF BAAN MAHARAJ COMMUNITY, MAHARAJ DISTRICT, AYUTTHAYA PROVINCE

Abstract

          Objectives of this research were:1. Po study the general conditions and economic self-reliance problems of the Ban Maharaj community, Maharaj district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province,2. To develop the economic self-reliance potential of the Ban Maharat community, Maharaj district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The methodology was the mixed methods: The quantitative method collected data from samples that were families or representatives on a 1 family for 50 household, 1 community leader, 1 village health volunteer (VHV) 1 village villager philosopher, 1 local elder,1 representative of the community enterprise, and 1 village committees member totaling 56 people were used in the research. The quantitative study used a questionnaire on economic self-reliance. A qualitative study using participatory action research by In-depth interviews.

          The results of the research were as follows: Most of them were female, age 56 years and over, primary education, non-employment occupation, and no additional occupation, household income between 5,001-10,000 Household expenses between 10,001-15,001 Most of them had no debt burden and no savings and did not make a household account developing the self-reliance potential for the economy and career promotion of Baan Maharaj Community, Maharaj District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. It was carried out through 3 activities which were common needs of the community as follows; 1) household accounting training and occupational cost accounting, 2) Career promotion activities such as Crispy caramel chips (Krong Krang crispy), steamed banana cake, and Thai sponge cake, and 3) planting vegetable activity.
