The research on conservation and development of Folk Music Culture of Community based Learning with the purposes to 1) to collect folk music culture of Nakhon Sawan Province, and 1) conservation and development of folk music culture of Nakhon Sawan Province of Community based Learning. This
research was the qualitative and the participatory action research (PAR) processwas used with the result that the people became researchers themselves, in
addition to being the research target and beneficiaries. In this study, data wascollected with focus group discussion and in depth interview from the key
informants both male and female local singers, Local Leaders and people incommunity to conservation and development of folk music culture of community
based learning. The researcher found that four area of folk music included : 1)folk songs of Tambol Khao Thong 2) folk songs of Tambol Nong klub and 3) folk
songs of Tambol Nearn Sala. The folk songs in the area were categorized in fourtypes by season or by festival. The following are example of the categorization :folk songs in festival, folk songs in agricultural festival, folk songs in harvest festivaland folk songs that are song or played at festivals in general. For conservation anddevelopment of folk music culture in Nakhon Sawan Province of community basedlearning show that techniques of playing Thai traditionaldrums and Folk Songs skillwere transferred to primary school students, collegian and youth people bydemonstrating and teaching and telling directly. As for local philosopher’sdescendants, they learned professional techniques of playing Thai traditionaldrums and Folk Songs by observing and learning indirectly from the localphilosophers. However, similar belief on Folk Songs and Thai traditional drums wastransferred to primary school students and their descendants. The RajabhatNakhon Sawan university has been a center for community learning. to preservethe traditional art heritage. Schools were invited to join the project for producingmusical instruments and preserving local cultural arts (Thai tradition drums). Theimportant concepts influencing the transfer of Thai traditional drum group and therelationship between their group and cultural tourism throughout, community’senvironment, economy, and soico-culture.
