Exposure, Utilization and, Satisfaction with Dhamma Programs at SaengdhammRadio Station of People Making Meruts at Wat Pa Ban Dahd, Mueang District,Udorn Thani Province
Abstract
The objective of this research were to study (1) exposure to Dhamma programs broadcast via Dhamma Peua Prachachon Radio Station; (2) utilization and satisfaction with Dhamma programs broadcast via Dhamma Peua Prachachon Radio Station; and (3) the relationships between exposure, utilization and satisfaction with Dhamma programs of people making merits at Wat Pa Ban Dahd, Mueang District, Udorn Thani Province.
This was a survey research. The sample population, chosen through purposive sampling, consisted of 385 listeners of Dhamma Peua Prachachon Radio Station who made merits at Wat Pa Ban Dahd, Mueang District, Udorn Thani Province. Research instrument for data collection was questionnaire. Statistics using for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s correlated coefficients.
The results showed that (1) The majority of samples listened to the radio programs while doing other work. Most had listened to the station for more than 2 years and tuned in 5-6 times a week. They normally listened to the programs in the morning between 6.00 to 12.00 at home. Every time after listening to the programs, they always talked to others. (2) The majority of samples utilized the programs overall at a highest level. What they utilized most was meditation practice. (3) The samples were overall highly satisfied with the radio programs. The most satisfied Dhamma program was “Krongkarn Chuay Chat”. (4) The relationships between utilization and satisfaction was related a statistically significant relationship (p<0.01).
