Abstract

Mahayana world is very Interesting. People in the United States Or in Europe know Mahayana through roughly and deeply. They study and practise meditation in the Mahayana method. But if you ask them, "What is Theravadha Buddhism?" They would say Theravadha Buddhism is the Buddhism that Phra Mahakasapa and the group disseminated, emphasizing individual interest, they are conservatives. That is Theravadha Buddhism. Such and answer indicates that Theravada or Hinayana Buddhism is not a hundred percent Buddhism. It is not what the Buddha taught directly. But it is what Maha Kasapa Thera taught. Western world knows Mahayana more than Theravada. The depth and glory of Mahayana is dominantly prosperous in the Western world.
