THE EFFECTS OF THE BUDDHISTPEACEFUL MEANSPROGRAM ON CONFLICT RESOLUTION OF MATHAYOMSUKSA 2 STUDENTS AT HATYAIWITTAYALAI SCHOOL, CHANGWAT SONGKHLA
Abstract
The purposes of this research were: 1) to developthe BuddhistPeaceful Means Program. 2) tocomparethe Conflict Resolutionby BuddhistPeaceful Meansbefore and after the experiment of the experimental group. 3) tocompare the Conflict Resolution by BuddhistPeaceful Meansbetween the control and the experimental group after the experiment.This research was the quasi experimental research. The populations were 589 students in 14 classrooms of Mathayomsuksa 2 in second semester, academic year 2013, HatyaiwittayalaiSchool, ChangwatSongkhla. Two classrooms with the lowest Conflict Resolution by
BuddhistPeaceful Meansscores were purposively selected and randomly assigned, 25 students in each group, to form the experimental and control groups. The experimental group participated in the Buddhist Peaceful Means Program for 11 sessions, 50 minutes per session. The instruments used were: the Buddhist Peaceful Means Program, the Conflict Resolution by BuddhistPeaceful Means Questionnaire,
Student’s Opinion towards the Buddhist Peaceful Means Program. The data was analyzed by Mean, Standard Deviation, t – test. The research results showed that: 1) After the experiment, the Conflict
Resolution by BuddhistPeaceful Meansscores of the experimental group were significantly higher than their pretest scores at the .05 level . 2) After the experiment, the experiment groups scored significantly higher on the Conflict Resolution by BuddhistPeaceful Means than the control group at the .05 level.
