Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study beliefs on the Arangetram
Ceremony of students learning Bharatanatyam Indian classical dance in order to
deliver creative dancing arts. The data had been collected by interviewing the
experts in Bharatanatyam Indian classical dance. The knowledge and experience
gained by the researcher while studying Bharatanatyam classical dance at Banaras
Hindu University, Varanasi City of India have also been used for data analysis. The
result reveals that the Arangetram is an Indian ancient and classical ceremony

conventionally undertaken by students of Bharatanatyam. As this ceremony has
not yet well known in Thailand, it should be promoted as one of the cultural
heritage of all mankind.
