MANAGEMENT PROCESS FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE RIGHTS AND PREVENTION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN AND WOMEN IN BANGKOK AND VICINITY

Abstract

The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the condition and problem
relating to the violence against children and women in Bangkok and vicinity, 2) to
study the management process to protect rights and prevent violence against
children and women in Bangkok and vicinity by using qualitative research. The
research instrument was a structured interview, collecting data from the selected
10 administrators of private organizations, selected 8 administrators of government
organizations, and 17 participants relate to the violence against children and
women and the participants with the cases of violence against children and women
amount 17 persons, with total sample size was 35 persons. The data analysis used
content analysis by descriptive presentation.

The results of the study found that ;
The condition and the problem relating to the violence against children
and women are occurred from; 1) economic conditions of unemployed people with
low income; 2) social environment near the drug traffickers, drugs and sexual
services; 3) belief, culture, values of society that give power and liberty to men
rather than women; 4) damaged children and women do not want to prosecute the
law and do not want to tell the issues to the media for fear of derision from the

society; 5) most of officers in the justice procedure lack of knowledge and
understanding about violence against children and women in families.
The result of management process analysis to protect rights and prevent
violence against children and women in Bangkok and vicinity consists of: 1)
protection of rights of children and women; 2) prevention of violence against
children and women; 3) related law for protecting the rights of children and
women; 4) development of coordination and integration mechanisms; and
5) education and research.
