SUITABLE ADMINISTRATION DEVELOPMENT FOR SANGHA ADMINISTRATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE MONKS IN SUPHANBURI PROVINCE

Abstract

Objectives of this research were: 1) to study the general context of
suitable administration development for Sangha administration by administrative
monks in Suphanburi Province, 2) to study the development of suitable
management by administrative monks in Suphanburi Province and 3) to propose
the approaches to the suitable Sangha administration development for
administrative monks in Suphanburi Province.Methodology was the mixed methods research between the qualitative
and quantitative researches. The qualitative research collected data from 18 key
informants, purposive selected from experts by face-to-face in-depth interviewing
with in-depth-interviewing scripts and from 11 participants in focus group discussion.
data from two steps were analyzed by descriptive interpretation. The quantitative
research collected data from a sample of 290 people by simple random sampling
from the populations of 1,050 people using Taro Yamane’s formula, by usingdescriptive statistics: frequency, percentile, mean and standard deviation.
Findings were as follows:
1. The general context of suitable Sangha administration development in
Suphanburi Province were that,1) the aspect of Sangha disciplines; monks and
novices practice along with Dhamma and Vinaya and obeyed and respected the
elders well. There was clear administrative policy, 2) Sangha activity promotion;
chief monks supported and promoted monks and novices to chant morning and
evening mantras all year round and promoted monks and novices to take course of
Sangha affaires management, at certificate level so that the development would be
continuous with clear policy and operation plan, 3) dispute solving; the head
monks had authority to revoke the duties of administrative monks when they do
not abide by the rules and regulations such as doing solicitation, 4) problem solving
for smooth administration; were issued for administrative monks to supervise and
look after monks and novices to behave and abide by rules and regulations
regularly,
