Abstract

The objectives of this research were (1) to study political participation in general elections, (2) to compare the level of political participation in the general election, and (3) to study the guidelines for political participation in the general election. The researcher employed both quantitative and qualitative research methods. In this quantitative research, data collection was conducted by questionnaires from the sample group, namely, the people of Pruksa Village 13, Klong Sam Sub-district, Klong Luang District. Pathum Thani Province, 370 people, and analyzed the data using a ready-made processing program. For qualitative research, in-depth interviews were used to collect data. From the sample group, which was the people of Pruksa Village 13, Klong Sam Subdistrict, Klong Luang District, Pathumthani Province, 17 people by purposive selection and data analysis by content analysis. The findings of the study revealed that (1) Political participation in the general election of the people of Pruksa Village 13, Khlong Sam Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province Overall, political participation in elections was at a high level. (2) Personal factors, including gender, age, marital status, education level and the average monthly income of the people different people have different political participation in elections. Statistically significant at the 0.05 level, and (3) Guidelines for political participation in general elections, namely (1) Election management and vote counting should be transparent and fair by allowing the public to participate more than this (2) The agency should verify the right to be correct and provide opportunities for applicant’s political parties can freely campaign and have a sufficient platform to campaign. (3) Should increase public relations to educate about elections by creating a manual to create more understanding and 4) Should set the duration of the traditional election and increasing the number of days of advance voting.
