Abstract

The objectives of this research were (1) to study the pattern and relationship of labor employment in agriculture in Khong Yong Subdistrict, Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province, and (2) to find a method to establish measurement to protect workers in agricultural work in the area of ​​Khong Yong Subdistrict, Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province for the useful of sustainable social development by qualitative research with documentary research and  In-depth interviews. The results showed that patterns and relationships of employment in agriculture in area of Khong Yong Subdistrict, Phutthamonthon District, Nakhon Pathom Province found that agriculture is a method that people in the community are familiar with. At present, there is rice cultivation and a variety of vegetable crops. Employment in agriculture is largely in the form of discussions for legal relations rather than in writing (contact). Prepare clean drinking water as required by law and follow by the minimum age criteria for employment without the use of child labor under the age of 15 years old. The labor has continued to work in agriculture for decades and there is a tendency for an increase in the use of elderly labor in agriculture in community because it is the traditional occupation of the family and does not require a high educational background like other types of work receive certainty benefit and productivity. In addition, it was also found that most workers lacked knowledge and understanding of labor law rules especially in agricultural labor laws and lack of support, assistance and advice on labor practices from relevant Organizations. Therefore, it was suggested to consider decide standards for labor protection in agricultural work according to the type and nature of agricultural work performed. By allowing Government Organizations to participate in create knowledge and understanding of the law to those involved with promoting and developing agricultural skills using technology and make a good attitude in order to continue the succession.
