Hypothesis Testing Between Demography Characteristics and the Need of Elderly Tourists Towards Hotel Services in Chumporn Province

This research study was designed as a quantitative research. The objectives of this research were (1) to study the demographic characteristics and behavior of elderly tourists towards the service of accommodation business in Chumphon Province, and (2) to test the hypothesis between the demographic characteristics and the needs of elderly tourists for the services of accommodation business in Chumphon Province. A questionnaire was used as a research tool to collect data from a total of 400 sample groups. The Data used descriptive statistics to summarize demographic characteristics and elderly tourist behavior, and inferential statistics were used to test the hypothesis using t-test and F-test. The Results found that Most Elderly Tourists were female and aging 61-70 years in the marital status, with education at the secondary level, with monthly income between 10,000-20,000 Baht and engaged in private business. In terms of tourists’ behavior, most of the elderly travel by car and choose to stay for 3 days by choosing to come during public holidays, price level 1,001-1,500 Baht. The results of the hypothesis testing between demographic characteristics and service needs of the accommodation business showed that different status, education level, income and occupation had different service needs. There were no differences in the areas of room service management, facility service, equipment and facilities, and personnel service, while gender differences were required, different in terms of room service and location services, equipment and amenities, as well as age features, have different needs in room service.
