Service Provider Development Model in Health Service of the Union of Thai Traditional Medicine Society

บทคัดย่อ

The objectives of this research were to: 1) Study the background and development of Thai Traditional Massage Service. 2) Study the problems of Thai Traditional Medicine service for Anti-Aging at health service centers in Bangkok Metropolitan Region. 3) Study the format to develop Thai Traditional Massage in Health Care Service of Thai Traditional Medicine Association of Thailand. The research conducted by using the qualitative participatory research method.  The sample includes 5 Health Care Services of Thai Traditional Medicine Association of Thailand, 5 Health Care Service managers, 2 physicians, 5 Thai Traditional physicians, 25 Thai Traditional massagers, and 69 patients. The tools used to collect data using observations, interviews, questionnaires, focus group discussions and workshop. Data were analyzed by data classification and the inductive analysis method and the research results were presented by the descriptive analysis method.

          The research found that: 1) The background of Thai Traditional Massaging began with the family care which passed down from generation to generation until later developed into an educational system in the present day by both public and private agencies. 2) The problems of development in Thai Traditional Massaging Service ranged from the differences in basic knowledge, ability, virtue, morality, responsibility, expressions, and the Health Establishment Act B.E. 2559 which complicated the process in learning and registered by law. 3) The approaches to improve the Health Care providers in the Health Care Services of    Thai Traditional Medicine Association of Thailand can be categorized into 5 types (5P); (1) Policy – assigning policy to plan development for service provider systematically to coordinate with public and private development for health care provider. (2) Practice – training to provide ethics, knowledge, and good skills professionally. (3) Polite – service provider must smile, and express sincerity as Thai characteristics. (4) Perfect – service provider is eager to service, be cooperative, and create satisfaction to customer. (5) Promotion – personal management that promotes sharing, and better well-being. These steps can improve Thai Traditional massager, increase patient’s satisfaction, physically and mentally, and benefits the society, the public health and the economy of Thailand.
