The Policies to promote cultural tourism by local tradition Poi Sang Long (ordination) Mae Hong Son Province

บทคัดย่อ

        Research aimed to 1) study traditional culture of community and compared with the cultural trend, beliefs, values emerged in community 2) study policies affected to cultural change and emerged new culture in society 3) present research to related agencies for any further implementation complied with society. The research method was Qualitative Research Methodology.  Research populations were executives, community leaders for 26 persons. Research tools were in-depth interviews, discussion with the local population, phenomena observed in the area and related documents.
         Data analysis was content analysis and descriptive analysis.  The result showed the traditional culture affected way of living within community such as Poy Sang Long tradition (Festival of the Crystal Sons Ordination). Villagers believed that men shall gained merit more than general ordination. The festival will be held during March – April or summer break of each year. Villagers shall setup the ordination for their sons in the same time.  This is the good values; their sons shall dress with precious ornaments beautifully. Therefore, the state recognized the importance, resulted in eco- tourism promotion from central government to local government.  Since the traditional events became tourism material, the format of the traditional activities had been adjusted to impress tourists. Many related agencies and organizations have joined with the festival to contribute good events. Therefore, it needed to adjust the management system. The relationship among community members had been affected due to villagers has seen government as master which destroyed the traditional social relationships.  This was the obvious reflection to such society.
