Corporate-Social Responsibility (CSR) of IRPC Public Company Limited According to Buddhist Peaceful Means

บทคัดย่อ

This paper is of 3 objectives : 1) to study theoretical idea towards

corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the present, 2) to study social
responsibility of IRPC Public Company Limited, and 3) to critically analyze
corporate social responsibility of IRPC Public Company Limited according to
Buddhist peaceful means, using the tool of Qualitative Research.
Firstly, it is found the idea of being responsible to society is the concept
that the company has to proceed together with prevention of damage and
promote development of society and its environment. This means that the
company has to concern with effects and must be responsible to the one that
occurred, accept inspection, be ready to reveal the information of policies, has
honour in operations and pay attention to human rights. These principles are in
line with the Four Sangahavatthu, such as ‘Dāna’ : giving, ‘Piyavācā’ : kindly
speech, ‘Atthacariyā’ : useful conduct and ‘Samānattatā’ : even and equal 

treatment, because they are sources of developing enhancement or creating
supports that hold hearts of the people in society, which lead to love and
unity.
Secondly, it is found that IRPC Public Company Limited has held tightly
to conceptual and practical ideas in terms of social and environmental
responsibilities as its policy frame with care, sharing and paying attention to
every sector, that is the renovations of friendly production process to the
environment, energy management, waste management, environmental
promotion and preservation, and the project of creating people and canals.
Lastly, it is found that IRPC Public Company Limited has proceeded CSR
activities that is simultaneously with the Four Sangahavatthu, i.e. ‘Dāna’ :
donating to develop or renovate surrounding communities, ‘Piyavācā’ :
communicating, listening to complaints and revealing information, ‘Atthacariyā’ :
job offering and hiring in communities and ‘Samānattatā’ : joining religious and
cultural ceremonies of communities. By this Buddhist peaceful means, it causes
the company to be accepted and trustworthy and has become a part of
communities in cooperating for social peace.
