Development of Art and Cultural Promotion of Buddhist Monks

บทคัดย่อ

     The purposes of this article were to study the role of Buddhist monks in order to develop Thai art and culture, to study factors toward the success of Thai art and cultural promotion, and to propose a model of art and cultural development of Buddhist monks for preserving of Thai ways. Documentary study from related research literature review was used for data collection and analyzing. Results showed that roles of Buddhist monks were to develop and promote Thai art and cultures, to preserve ancient objects and archaeological site within temples, to teach and encourage having conscious mind of preserving Thai art and cultures. Lastly, Buddhist monks also acted to be the leader of preserving archaeological sites. Five factors toward the success of Thai art and cultural promotion for Buddhist monks were presented in this article which consisted of being a leadership, being good role of model on practicing, the ability of teaching, the cooperative of the community and the support of related organizations. Both Buddhist monks’ role and these five factors effected to the success of Thai art and cultural promotion which consisted of the stainable of Thai art and cultures, encouragement of Thai youth to love their local village, building a conscious mind of cooperative preservation and to build learning center within a community.
