This study aims to: (1) examine the current status and practical needs of interdisciplinary music education at Chengdu Arts and Sports Middle School through document analysis, classroom observation, and interviews with teachers and administrators; (2) collect expert and teacher perspectives on interdisciplinary aesthetic education and cross-media music teaching through in-depth interviews, in order to inform the theoretical and practical design of the study; (3) construct a Music-Led Interdisciplinary Aesthetic Framework (MLIAF) and develop an interdisciplinary music teaching manual for upper secondary students based on this framework; and (4) implement the teaching manual in real classroom settings and evaluate its feasibility, propriety, and educational effectiveness in terms of students’ aesthetic comprehension, emotional expression, cultural cognition, and cross-media meaning-making. Guided by interdisciplinary education theory, multimodal learning theory, and aesthetic education principles, this study integrates music with visual arts, literature, and history through three thematic modules. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including needs analysis, qualitative inquiry, instructional material development, classroom implementation, and expert evaluation. The findings indicate that the MLIAF-based teaching manual effectively addresses institutional and pedagogical needs, enhances students’ engagement and aesthetic learning, and demonstrates strong practical value for school-based interdisciplinary aesthetic education.
