Development of a Training Curriculum to Enhance Teachers’ Professional Competency for the Faculty of Education, Dhonburi Rajabhat University

Abstract
The research article consisted of the following objectives: 1) to create and develop, a training curriculum to enhance teachers' competency towards professional for the Faculty of Education, Dhonburi Rajabhat University and 2) to test and evaluate the effectiveness a training curriculum to enhance teachers' competency towards professional for the Faculty of Education, Dhonburi Rajabhat University. This research employed a quantitative methodology. The population consisted of 580 teachers affiliated with the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) in Bangkok and Samut Prakan. The sample included 234 individuals consisting of administrators, teachers, and educational personnel, sampling through voluntary selection. The research instruments were a knowledge test using the analysis of the Effectiveness Index (E.I.), performance evaluations, and satisfaction questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The research findings revealed that: 1. A Training Curriculum to Enhance Teachers’ Professional Competency for the Faculty of Education, DRU, comprised six aspects: 1) Curriculum Principles, 2) Curriculum Objectives, 3) Curriculum Structure, 4) Curriculum Content, 5) Curriculum Activities, and 6) Media and Innovation. The training course consisted of 36 hours of both content and practical activities, divided into three modules. 2. The effectiveness of a training curriculum to enhance teachers’ professional competency for the Faculty of Education, DRU, was found that: 1) Knowledge: teachers who participated in the training showed a 78% increase in knowledge, 2) Skills: teachers who participated in the training showed an 87% increase in skills, and 3) Satisfaction: overall satisfaction of teachers who participated in the training was at the highest level.
