การเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาในต่างแดน ศึกษากรณีวัดปากน้ำอเมริกา

บทคัดย่อ
การเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาในต่างแดนนั้น พระธรรมทูตสายต่างประเทศจะต้องได้รับการอบรมให้มีความรู้ความสามารถ จริยาวัตรอันงดงาม พระธรรมทูตต้องมีความเข้าใจภาษาและวัฒนธรรมของประเทศที่ตนไปเผยแผ่ให้ดีพอ ทำให้การการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนา และสื่อสารกับคนในประเทศนั้นได้ดี และมีความมั่นใจในการปฏิบัติศาสนกิจในต่างประเทศได้ดียิ่งขึ้น มีคุณสมบัติเหมาะสมที่จะไปปฏิบัติหน้าที่เผยแผ่ในต่างประเทศ เพื่อสนองงานเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาในต่างประเทศของคณะสงฆ์ไทย ทำหน้าที่ในการส่งสารซึ่งก็คือธรรมะอันเป็นแก่นแท้ของพระพุทธศาสนา นำไปให้ถึงประชาชนเพื่อให้เข้าใจในหลักธรรมทางพระพุทธศาสนา เป็นผู้นำในการสั่งสอนให้คำแนะนำประชาชนให้เกิดศรัทธา และน้อมนำเอาหลักคำสอนทางพระพุทธศาสนาสู่การปฏิบัติในวิถีชีวิต
พระธรรมทูตผู้ทำหน้าที่เผยแผ่หลักธรรมคำสอนทางพระพุทธศาสนาและทำหน้าที่เสมือนเป็นตัวแทนของคณะสงฆ์ไทยเดินทางไปปฏิบัติศาสนกิจ เดินทางไปเพื่อฉลองศรัทธา พุทธศาสนิกชนไทยที่มีถิ่นฐานอยู่ที่นั้นเป็นชุมชนและปรารถนาที่จะให้มีวัดไทยขึ้น พระสงฆ์ทำหน้าที่หลักในการประกอบพิธีกรรมทางศาสนา อบรมสั่งสอนประชาชนให้เข้าถึงหลักธรรมทางพระพุทธศาสนา การสร้างวัดจึงเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาเช่นกัน เพราะวัดเป็นศูนย์กลางการพบปะของชุมชนคนไทยที่อยู่ต่างแดนในเมืองนั้น ๆ และเป็นสถานที่ที่ผู้สนใจพระพุทธศาสนาจะได้ศึกษาพระพุทธศาสนาสืบต่อไป
