บทคัดย่อ

The main purpose of this research, “Organizational Commitment of Local Government  Officials : A case study of  Bangkok Metropolitan Districts”, is to find  the levels of organizational commitment of the Bangkok Metropolitan officials.  Also, it attempted to explore relationship between sex, ages, marriage status, level of education, positions and years of work and their organizational commitments. Ten dimensions were used to scale the level of organizational commitment; i.e. job security, types of job, responsibility, performance achievements, respectfulness, advances in job positions, relationship with the bosses, compensation, work conditions, policy and administration. The population to be explored are those 381 Bangkok Metropolitan officials who work at 50 districts in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region. Questionnaires were employed as a tool to collect data. The descriptive statistics were frequency and percentage. For personal data analysis, mean, standard deviation were employed in describing the first research objectives, i.e.  The level of organizational commitment of Bangkok Metropolitan Districts officials. Chi-square tests are used to test hypotheses.


The research found that there was a high level of organizational commitment of the Bangkok Metropolitan officials as a whole, none relationship between sex, ages, positions and years of work and levels of organizational commitment was found, but there were relationships between marriage status and level of education and levels of organizational commitment.
