Abstract

The objective of this study was to measure the ageism level or negative attitudes toward older people of the working-age population aged 20 to 59 in Chon Buri Province. The number of samples was 200, which were sampled by the quota sampling. The ageism instrument was the Farboni Scale of Ageism (FSA) by Maryann Farboni. These data were analyzed using the descriptive statistics.

The results showed that the average level of ageism of the working-age population in Chon Buri Province was 66.61 points (S.D. = 8.11 points). The lowest score was 38 points and the highest score was 86 points. Moreover, 86% of the working-age population had a moderate level of ageism and 14% had a low level of ageism.
