Abstract

The objectives of this research were to assess the level of readiness regarding digital accounting systems and operational performance, compare the readiness regarding digital accounting systems as classified by personal characteristics, and analyze the readiness regarding digital accounting systems affecting the operational performance of corporate accountants in the upper northeastern region of Thailand. The sample of this quantitative research consisted of 295 corporate accountants obtained via stratified random sampling. The data were collected by using a questionnaire and analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, One-way ANOVA, and Multiple Regression Analysis. The research results revealed that, overall, the accountants had a high level of readiness regarding digital accounting systems and operational performance. When classified by personal characteristics, including gender, age, educational level, work experience, and position, it was found that there were statistically significant differences in readiness regarding digital accounting systems. Multiple Regression Analysis results indicated that readiness in data management had the highest influence on the operational performance of corporate accountants, followed by data processing, at a statistically significant level. Together, they could predict operational performance by 79.5 percent. However, readiness in data collection did not affect operational performance. The results suggest that organizations should accelerate the enhancement of infrastructure regarding data security management and promote in-depth data analysis skills to increase sustainable competitive capabilities.
