Business Ethics Affect to Performance of Small and Medium Generation X and Generation Y Entrepreneurs in Phitsanulok Province

Abstract

            Currently, under the uncertain business situation in technological change and social change affect the growth of businesses. Business operation with ethics is the important role that make a good image and customer loyalty. Also, business will be growth and sustain. The research objectives were 1) to study and compare the business ethics of small and medium generation X and generation Y entrepreneurs in Phitsanulok province 2) to study the influence of business ethics on performance of small and medium generation X and generation Y entrepreneurs in Phitsanulok province. The samples were 261 small and medium generation X and generation Y entrepreneurs in Phitsanulok province by purposive sampling. The research tool was questionnaires that five likert’s scales. The statistics employed percentage, mean, standard deviation and multiple regression analysis in data analyzing. The results found that generation X and generation Y small and medium business entrepreneurs have the same business ethics. Also, business ethics influenced on firm performance. Integrity (gif.latex?\beta= 0.314, p < 0.01)  and accountability (gif.latex?\beta= 0.191, p < 0.01)  positively influenced on firm performance. Hence, the entrepreneurs should pay more attention to honest business processes and operate on a socially acceptable basis. Likewise, the businesses will be a good image and credibility that make them more successful.
