INNOVATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF DESIRABLE CHARACTERISTICS OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS UNDER THE OFFICE OF THE BASIC EDUCATION COMMISSION TO APPROACH THE ROYAL AWARD

This research aimed to: 1) analyze the desirable characteristics of school administrators, 2) develop an innovation for enhancing those characteristics, and 3) evaluate and certify the innovation for developing the desirable characteristics of school administrators under the Office of the Basic Education Commission in preparation for becoming Royal Award-winning schools. The study employed a mixed methods research approach. The research framework was grounded in leadership trait theory, the concept of 21st-century educational leadership, and the management model for Royal Award schools. The sample group consisted of 352 participants, including school administrators, heads of four departments, teachers, and school board members, selected through stratified random sampling, simple random sampling, and purposive sampling techniques.Two main research instruments were used: 1) a performance-level questionnaire and 2) an evaluation form for innovation validation. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The findings revealed that: 1) the desirable characteristics of school administrators comprised three main components and eleven subcomponents; 2) an innovation titled the TSA Model was developed, consisting of three core components: (1) leadership traits, (2) the role of administrators in the 21st century, and (3) management for Royal Award-winning schools; and 3) the innovation was evaluated and validated by experts and specialists as appropriate and feasible for practical implementation.
