Strategies for transiting lyrics from English to Thai by Thanee Poonsuwan : A case study of motion pictures “Moana”

Abstract
This article was a study of strategies for translating lyrics from
English into thai by Thani Poonsuwan from the motion picture “Moana”
It was found that the strategies used to translate song lyric from the
movie “Moana”. There were 4 strategies. Frist, cutting the vocabulary,
including omission of words in the sentences. Second, adding word
including. filling the enumerative noun, filling pronouns at the end of the
word and filling the connector between idea group. Third, keeping the
original from including volume levelling active voice and passive voice
sentence processing. And the last one was adjusting such as rearranging
word in a sentence, adjusting word to a phrase and using words of more
general or more specific meaning. All of these strategies allowed the use
of song translation in to in Thai to be used to sing by entirely keeping
the meaning of the. rhythm and the melody of each original song.
