บทคัดย่อ
บทความนี้อภิปรายประเด็นปัญหาในเรื่องวิธีวิทยาการสร้างความไว้ใจผ่านการใช้สำเนียงเพื่อสร้างความรู้สึกในการเป็นพวกพ้องเดียวกันระหว่างผู้วิจัยกับผู้ให้ข้อมูลซึ่งเป็นแรงงานลาวข้ามชาติที่ไม่ได้ลงทะเบียนบริเวณชายแดนไทยและสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาวของจังหวัดอุบลราชธานีและแขวงจำปาสัก โดยผ่านมุมมองแบบชาติพันธุ์วรรณนา ตำแหน่งแห่งที่และการสร้างความไว้วางใจ ผู้วิจัยทำงานวิจัยหลายโครงการในพื้นที่จังหวัดอุบลราชธานีระหว่างปี 2562-2566 และพยายามใช้สำเนียงที่ใกล้เคียงกับผู้ให้ข้อมูลเพราะหวังว่าสำเนียงที่คล้ายกันจะทำให้เกิดความไว้วางใจได้รับการยอมรับว่าเป็น คนในในการลงพื้นที่ภาคสนาม แต่ผลกลับเป็นตรงกันข้ามเมื่อผู้ให้ข้อมูลยิ่งเกิดความไม่ไว้ใจ การทำงานภาคสนามชี้ว่าความพยายามในการเปลี่ยนสำเนียงในการเก็บข้อมูลไม่ได้ส่งผลต่อการได้มาของข้อมูลอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ หากแต่ผู้วิจัยต้องใช้เวลาในสนามให้มากพอจึงจะสร้างความไว้วางใจได้ ตลอดการทำวิจัยระหว่างปี ค.ศ. 2019 ถึง 2023 ผู้วิจัยใช้วิธีการเก็บข้อมูลเชิงเอกสาร การสัมภาษณ์และสังเกตการณ์แบบมีส่วนร่วม ทั้งนี้ ปัญหาทางวิธีวิทยาเรื่องการสร้างความไว้ใจจะปรากฏผ่านเทคนิคการสัมภาษณ์และการสังเกตการณ์แบบมีส่วนร่วมโดยการใช้ตำแหน่งแห่งที่ของผู้วิจัยมีบทบาทสำคัญในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล
