The objectives of this research were to study the behavioral problems of children and youth in Chaiyaphum Province and recommend a model of socialization for the development of psychological behaviors in children and youth in Chaiyaphum Province. The research was a qualitative research. Specific sampling method was used for in-depth interviews key informants consisting of a representative of community organization, religious organization, education organization and children and youth in Chaiyaphum Province. The instruments used for data collecting were both structured and unstructured interviews and group recordings. The research findings were found that;
- The common problems in children and youth in Chaiyaphum Province were, mostly, a problem of narcotic drugs ranging from legal to illegal, such as alcohol to illegal drugs, such as volatile substances and amphetamines. While another problem was a learning problem, poverty was one reason that families could not send their children to the school. The leisure time of children and youth was to play music, sing a song, exercise and socialize with friends.
2) A model of socialization for the development of psychological behaviors in children and youth in Chaiyaphum Province is based on the principle of "Understanding, Accessing, Development" of His Majesty the King. Its process consists of six steps: 1) Understanding, creating a lifestyle concept and creating of desirable values. 2) Planning; that is the direction of work by children and youth in Chaiyaphum province with emphasis on cooperation. 3) Public relations; that is informing all concerned thoroughly. 5) Evaluation; that is an evaluation of the performance by using participatory processes involving the children and youth workers in Chaiyaphum Province as well as guests. And 6) Improvement/Development upon completion of assessment, improvement in defects caused by stakeholders' reflection to lead the reconstruction process.
