Abstract

The objectives of this study were; 1) to study  the condition for cultivating virtue in merit and ethic to people in Thai society and elements and the process for cultivating virtue  in the school at Chiang Mai province, 2) to study the method for cultivating virtue according to moral and ethic theory, 3 ) to study the desirable of cultivating virtue in merit and ethic for the quality of life and 4) to create the strategies for cultivating virtue in merit and ethic to the sustainable development for quality of life in the school at Chiang Mai province. The methodology of this research was a qualitative research. There were 24 key Informants consisting of school directors, teachers, parents and students by In-depth Interview with purpose sampling method. The research findings as followings:        


  1. The condition for cultivating virtue in merit and ethic to people in Thai society and elements and the process for cultivating virtue in the school at Chiang Mai province found that each school had process for cultivating virtue by set as school development plan and procedure plan in annual plan. The main core for the school will be set in activities and field study that aim for moral and ethic development.

  2. The method for cultivating virtue according to moral and ethic theory found that each school had Buddhist activities continuously for the participation of children.

  3. The desirable of cultivating virtue in merit and ethic for the quality of life are the neat behavior of children, student dressing up, discipline, manner, just in time, energetic and yearn to know.

  4. The strategies for cultivating virtue in merit and ethic to the sustainable development for quality of life in the school at Chiang Mai province will be set learning project that related with 3E as follows: Environment, Education and Ethic.
