บทคัดย่อ
This research aims to: (1) analyze the crisis of music culture identity of Lei Opera in the Leizhou Peninsula, (2) synthesize the inheritance and transmission path of its music culture, and (3) evaluate the social and economic benefits generated by its development and dissemination. This research methodology was a mixed-methods approach which employed using three primary research tools: literature review, structured interviews, and questionnaire surveys. In-depth interviews were conducted with cultural scholars, performers, and educators from institutions such as the Zhanjiang City Music Association, Port City Troupe, and local universities. These interviews explored multiple perspectives on cultural transmission, educational practice, and social engagement. Additionally, a total of 500 questionnaires were distributed to students across four universities, yielding 441 valid responses. The sample represented a broad academic spectrum, providing insight into pre-existing cultural knowledge and attitudes toward Lei Opera.
The research findings reveal that Lei Opera is facing a cultural identity crisis, marked by outdated content, linguistic limitations, and reduced public appeal. However, the research also identifies multiple inheritance pathways—including family transmission, master-apprentice mentorship, school-based education, and media outreach—that contribute to its preservation. Furthermore, Lei Opera generates significant social and economic value through tourism, cultural industries, education, and regional branding. The study concludes with strategic recommendations for integrating traditional music culture into modern education, digital platforms, and creative industries to ensure its sustainable development in a globalized era.
