“Nirat Kaedam” : The Conventions of Nirat literature in the film series.

Abstract

This article focuses on studying the convention of Nirat in “Nirat Kaedam”, that is one of the episodes in the film series Tomorrow and I. This research finding indicates that it has the characteristic of Nirat literature, including the use of conventions in naming the story to emphasize the main idea of the story more clearly, the use of travel conventions and temporal movement to show the story in the past/present events and what will happen in the future, which is interconnected and related in a chain. The convention of expressing the feeling of mourning and love to convey the sadness of the characters who have lost their loved ones and the person who suffers from not being accepted in society. The use of the convention in describing the environment or the place traveled to shows the conflict between the future world with advanced technology and people in society who still have attitudes and beliefs in the old way. And the use of the conventions in expressing opinions and incorporating diverse perspectives to effectively convey ideas to society.
